Open Doors
We estimate that on an average day 200 people pass through our doors; sometimes it is many more. Some come for worship on Sundays. Many come to use our facilities for meetings, workshops, script readings or choir rehearsals. Others drop in just for a chat, while still others come with specific needs or because they want to spend time in prayer, alone or with a minister. All of these people are made to feel welcome by the members of our Open Doors team.
This last year we have recruited new members to the team, young and older, and said goodbye to others. All of them talk about how rewarding and sometimes challenging the role is. If you would like to join the team, please drop us an email.
A visitor who came to Bloomsbury for a conference wrote to say...
"I observed genuine charity, love and care from the people who were receiving us at the reception desk. In the morning a lady was stationed at the desk. She displayed the utmost courtesy to both rich and poor as they came through the door. In the afternoon a young man took the trouble to make me a cup of tea. This was welcome as I was in the foyer answering my mobile phone to someone in crisis." |
