‘The spirit of Bloomsbury’

Like the church, our logo has the cross at its centre but instead of the conventional cross we have a symbol that is less traditional, and perhaps a little intriguing to those not familiar with the Christian faith.

The two sweeps form, with the cross a notional ‘B’ for Bloomsbury. But they can also be interpreted as groups of people gathered around the cross, all equidistant from it. The two groups suggest that there is more than one approach to God: no one has a monopoly on the ‘right’ way and each of us travels by their own path.

We like to think that Bloomsbury is both a place of worship and a meeting place where people from different walks of life and a great variety of backgrounds and countries come together in a spirit of friendship and acceptance to worship God. In faith and with openness to different points of view, we search together for a better understanding of life and a deeper awareness of God.
